- Abstract - Objectives This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (qualitative). The objectives are as follows: 1. To identify and synthesise barriers and facilitators of successful community engagement in infectious disease clinical trials (e.g. HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria) in lowÔÇÉ and middleÔÇÉincome countries; and 2. To identify and synthesise strategies for engaging community stakeholders in infectious disease clinical trials in lowÔÇÉ and middleÔÇÉincome countries.
