We undertake demographic surveillance of 280,000 residents, linked to detailed clinical phenotyping for all maternal, childhood and adult admissions to Kilifi County Hospital. Our major scientific themes span vaccines (including pre and post-licensing studies with exploratory immunology and epidemiological components), genomics and infectious disease transmission, clinical research (focusing on multi-centre clinical trials and the pathophysiology of critical illness with a developing programme on neonatal and maternal health) and health systems research.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
