Research

Moses completed his Masters in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge and joined KEMRI/Wellcome Trust Research Programme, Kilifi in November 2003. He worked with the Bacterial Diseases Research Group which focused on evaluation of the effectiveness of childhood vaccines and the epidemiology of childhood diseases.

He also briefly worked with Child Health & Newborn Group on computer related work which later led to the development of tools for evaluating the extent of use of evidence by medical students and the utility of videos in identifying clinical signs.

He is currently doing a PhD on the Epidemiology of Streptococcus pneumoniae in Kenya and the effectiveness of the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine within the Expanded Programme on Immunization with Open University. This work is using information from Kilifi and Thika district hospitals.

He also has side interest in the application of ICT in public health research particularly the development of a Paediatrics Electronic Medical Records System for resource poor settings.
