The Ministry of Health and partners in child health marked the World Prematurity Day on the 17th of November 2015, at the Azure Royal Orchid Hotel in Westlands. Partners in child health met to discuss on pre-term care for infants including Kangaroo mother care, the basic paediatric protocols and improving the quality of care for newborns up to 5 years.
The launch of the Kangaroo Mother Care Guidelines and the Basic Paediatric Protocals was postponed and will be done at a later date due to ongoing validation by the Ministry of Health. Save the Children, KEMRI-Wellcome Trust and UNICEF were in attendance to mark this day.
Dr. Patrick Amoth from the Ministry of Health was the chief guest.
