Sophie is a post doc researcher at the programme. Her main research interest is operational research in malaria case management. She recently completed a project involving the use of mobile phone text messages to report stocks of antimalarial commodities, and malaria surveillance data. Sophie is currently involved in a trial using mobile phone text messages to remind caregivers of sick children to administer antimalarial drugs correctly. She is taking a lead in the formative phase of the study including development and testing of the intervention. Sophie has valuable experience in protocol development; planning and management of field data collection. She has hands on skills and experience in analysing both quantitative and qualitative data and writing up scientific publications. Sophie is working towards developing her research career around improving routine health facility surveillance data collection and use of data for decision making.
